In celebration of World Geriatric Day, RAK College of Nursing (RAKCON) organized a meaningful community outreach event at Sha’aam Hospital on 8th October 2025. The program aimed to raise awareness about healthy aging, promote respect and care for older adults, and highlight the vital role nurses play in enhancing the quality of life of the elderly population.
During the event, RAKCON students actively participated in various health education activities, interactive sessions, and community engagement initiatives focusing on geriatric health, nutrition, safety, and emotional well-being. Their enthusiasm and professionalism were highly appreciated by both hospital staff and visitors.
The event was a great success, marked by collaboration, compassion, and learning. The Hospital Director recognized and commended the students for their outstanding efforts, dedication, and contributions to community health promotion.
This initiative reflects RAKCON’s ongoing commitment to community service and to fostering empathy and professional excellence among its nursing students, in line with the college’s mission to promote holistic and person-centered care for all age groups.
