Who We Are

The First Comprehensive Health Sciences University in the UAE

RAK Medical & Health Sciences University (RAKMHSU) was set up under the visionary leadership of His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, UAE Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah. It is the first comprehensive Health Sciences University in the UAE that is fully managed by the Government of Ras Al Khaimah.

The University offers higher-education degrees in medicine, dentistry, pharmacy and nursing through its four colleges. All programs are accredited locally by the Commission for Academic Accreditation (CAA), and RAKMHSU is listed in the World Directory of Medical Schools — with the MD program accredited by the World Federation for Medical Education (WFME) and the B.Pharm program by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), USA.

From a humble beginning with 22 students in 2006, RAKMHSU has grown remarkably — now home to more than 1,700 students of around 50 nationalities and a faculty hailing from 32 different countries.
